FAQs

What is no-dig organic farming and why are you taking this approach to farming?

No-Dig farming is a method that aims to minimise soil disturbance. This enables healthy soil life and soil structure to flourish, which encourages natural organisms to thrive, as well as our vegetables.

We take this approach to farming as we believe the health of the soil is connected to the food and those who eat it.

Is Happy Farm Hawkesbury certified organic?

Yes we are, certification number 13185.

When will the first Veggie Box be available?

We’re planning for Spring 2022, in the meantime, you can find our produce at Green Hill Organics in Richmond.

When and where will I be able to pick up my veggie box?

Weekly at an easy to park location in Richmond (exact location and time TBA).

Are they customisable?

As we’re still new at this, we plan on focusing on one large family box size for our first 30 members.

Is there a fortnightly option?

For our initial 30 members, we are only offering weekly, as the farm grows and our processes refine we hope to offer more flexible options to our members.

What can you expect in my membership box?

9-12 varieties of fresh local, organic and seasonal veggies

How much and how do I pay for the membership?

$55 per week direct debited fortnightly.

How much notice do I need to give if I’d like to cancel my membership?

There are no lock-in contracts. One week’s notice, send us an email and we’ll stop your membership.

What happens to my weekly veggie box if I’m away?

You can nominate a family member or friend to enjoy your veggies in your absence. Alternatively, we can send your box to a local charity gifted from you to them.

What happens if there is a closure on the farm?

If for some reason the farm can’t produce your veggies, we won’t charge you and we will always notify you in advance.

How many weeks a year would can I expect veggies?

48-50 weeks a year.

Can I visit the farm anytime to pick up my veggies?

Not as yet! We’re in the process of making Happy Farm Hawkesbury a family-friendly place to visit. We’ll be sure to invite you as soon as the farm is ready for visitors.
